Questions

Before you book

Do I need surgery?

Not necessarily. Many spine problems are treated without surgery. If you are unsure, an Independent Spine Opinion gives you a written answer on your own records, without an appointment.

What should I bring to my visit?

Any scans (MRI, X-ray, CT), written reports, previous operative notes, and a list of your medication.

Can I get an opinion without travelling?

Yes. The Independent Spine Opinion™ can be done remotely. We need a complete set of records before we give an opinion.

Is the symptom check a diagnosis?

No. It helps you prepare and helps us understand your situation. Only an examination and your scans can lead to a diagnosis.

When should I go to the emergency room instead?

If you suddenly lose strength in a leg, lose control of urine or stool, have numbness around the groin, or have severe back pain with fever or after an accident, go to the nearest emergency room today.

Can I book just to get a diagnosis?

Appointments with Dr. Fady are reserved for surgical consultations. For a diagnosis or a second view first, request an Independent Spine Opinion: it is done remotely, in writing. If surgery is appropriate, you will be offered an appointment.
